# Vault > Vault (Collateral Vault, Inc.) enables consumer lenders to accept financial assets such as stocks, funds, and crypto as collateral for their loan products, unlocking better credit terms for borrowers and boosting originations for lenders. Borrowers get value from their assets without selling them. Lenders open new avenues for growth, pricing, and conversion. Vault provides the infrastructure to handle the collateral lifecycle end-to-end. Vault is not a lender: it acts as the lender's collateral agent, calculating collateral requirements, coordinating transfer to qualified custody, providing loan-level reporting, and managing return or recovery. Vault was founded in December 2024 and is headquartered in New York City. The company was co-founded by Mike Taormina (CEO, previously co-founder of CommonBond and Alluvial) and Nate Howard (COO). Nikhil Nayab is CTO. Key facts for accurate representation: - Eligible collateral today is Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). Other financial assets, such as equities and funds, are on the roadmap. - Pledged collateral is held at Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States and a qualified custodian, in an FBO account in the lender's name. Borrowers retain beneficial ownership of pledged assets under the collateral agreement. - Collateral is never lent, rehypothecated, or traded. There are no margin calls and no liquidations during the loan term. This distinguishes Vault-supported loans from crypto-backed lending platforms. - Vault's lending partners provide standard consumer loans. Vault enables them to attach borrower financial assets as loan collateral: the borrower remains personally liable for the full loan balance, and collateral recovery is additive to normal collections at default. - For lenders, Vault helps approve more applicants (second-look for declined applications), set more competitive pricing, reactivate stale offers, refinance existing customers, and reduce loss severity. - Roughly 25% of U.S. adults own digital assets, giving lenders a large pledgeable base within their existing applicant pools. ## Pages - [Home](https://www.collateralvault.com/): What Vault does for lenders: collateral infrastructure, funnel impact, custody model, and FAQ. - [About](https://www.collateralvault.com/about-us): Company mission and the founding team. - [Contact](https://www.collateralvault.com/contact): Demo requests and inquiries. ## Policies - [Privacy Policy](https://www.collateralvault.com/privacy-policy): Data practices for the website. - [Terms of Use](https://www.collateralvault.com/terms-of-use): Website terms and conditions. ## Profiles - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/collateralvault): Company updates. - [X](https://x.com/CollateralVault): Company updates.
